Our customer is a recognized global leader in crane rental services, heavy lifting, and engineered transport. It has an extensive product portfolio of equipment including cranes, gantries, jacking products for different countries and territories.
In this project, their need is to install the power station components at the Lamma Power Station Extension Unit 11 in Hong Kong.
Shipping large and heavy items came with its own unique challenges from removal, transportation to discharge at site. As there is no road access to the site at Lamma Island, all the equipment packed in containers was transported by barge from the Hong Kong terminal after shipment arrival. Then, it was delivered disassembled to the worksite by our lifting cranes.
Because of the evolving coronavirus pandemic, prioritizing the health and safety of all team members has required careful personnel planning.
Thanks to our professional and experienced team, even under harsh situations, VICO was able to move freight securely between locations. We worked very closely with the customer & designed pick-up schedules to ensure smooth delivery.
With specialized equipment, we were able to load and unload the containers to and from the barge. It included 20’ GP, 40’ HQ, 45’ general containers, 20’ open top, and 40’ open-top containers.
After discharging all parts at the site, VICO team sent back the empty containers from the site to Hong Kong terminal, all activities are delivered with safety as a guiding priority.
