It is March 8 tomorrow, which only means one thing, it is International Women's Day!
On Women's Day, it isn't just about celebrating all the hard work women have contributed to the world, it is also about fighting for gender equality. VICO Logistics cares about providing you with the best logistics services, but we care even more about our staff and working environment.
We interviewed Xuan, the head of our HR department, asking various questions regarding what it's like to be a woman working in the logistics industry and VICO Logistics.
This field is more attractive than other fields because of:
Can improve English.
Good working time, easy to enjoy weekends and holidays.
Can study more knowledge related to logistics. It must be updated day by day.
And your experience working here at VICO?
It is an excellent workplace without any gender discrimination. I feel like everyone in this company works together as a team other than seeing each other as gender or classifying us into gender-specific roles. We support each other and are backed by our line manager.
Do you think the logistics industry is dominated by women now?
Freight forwarding companies that are dominated by women aren't strange anymore. There are a lot of intricacies involved in the in-and-out that women may have certain advantages over men. Not to say men are not suitable, but it is indeed true that many companies are starting to see an increase in women co-workers in this traditionally male-dominated industry.
Of course, VICO Logistics cannot speak for all women involved in this industry, nor can we assume that the gender equality issue has been solved. However, we believe that cultivating a healthy and safe environment for our workers is the first step to moving forward together as an industry and country.
It isn't just on Women's Day; it is every day, every week, and every month. We celebrate women's hard work for the company and the world.
