Persistent cold weather in Jiaozuo, Henan, put thermal power suppliers under strain. A major supplier's heating boiler breakdown left some areas urgently needing additional heat. While this scenario doesn't directly impact Hong Kong to Danang shipping, it highlights the broader logistical challenges caused by the cold wave(Reuters).

     1.3 Thaw in Sight, Cautious Optimism:

Finally, some good news arrives! After nearly two weeks of record-breaking cold, China is expecting a surge of warmth starting this weekend (23-24 Dember, 2023). The icy grip weakens, pushing temperatures above 10°C in many central and eastern regions by Monday, 18 December, 2023 Warmer-than-usual temperatures are forecast to last through December, gradually thawing most of the country. While new lows are still possible this week, the overall trend points towards a welcome thaw, potentially easing logistical stress for shipments like Shanghai/ Shenzhen/ Hong Kong to Danang.

2. Update shipping schedule and related service in the routings of Shanghai/ Shenzhen/ Hong Kong to Da Nang

The unwanted factors of winter and logistics have changed the shipping schedule. Please see them as bellows to grab which route will change and what is the best choice for your needs.

    2.1   Shekou – Danang reschedule

In January, four WHL vessels will have a revised route, making Ho Chi Minh their first stop before reaching Danang. This change increases transit time from 2 days to 5-6 days.

February, WHL will further refine its routing based on actual cargo volume, potentially affecting Shekou-Danang transit times again. We recommend checking the updated WHL schedule regularly for the latest information.

    2.2 Shenzhen/ Hong Kong to Danang LCL service 

Starting December 24, 2023, the direct ASL service from Shekou/Nansha to Danang will be unavailable. Therefore, we offer a new route from Shekou/Nansha via Hong Kong to Danang.

For LCL shipments, the Shekou to Danang feeder service will operate daily on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with a transit time ranging from 5 to 7 days. This new Hong Kong to Danang option provides a reliable solution for smaller cargo volumes.

Therefore, please note currently only WHL has direct services from Shenzhen to Danang and its transit time in January has been increased to 6 days.

  • However, if your cargo is a small volume, the LCL service from Shenzhen via Hong Kong to Danang remains the most efficient choice.
  • Remember that proper cargo packing is crucial to ensure safe arrival for all transit routes.

    2.3 Shanghai – Danang _ FCL service

The transit time of WHL routings from Shanghai via Shenzhen and Hochiminh then to Danang have been changed, increasing 10-11 days.

Therefore, we change to SITC. However, the factories should place the booking 7 days before CY Closing.
